Revisiting my old work

I decided to visit my Flickr account today.
I truly need to make that a more frequent thing than what it is.
I do love going back and seeing my work, the good and the bad. I like seeing the growth, and also in some ways how I have slipped.
I love how raw some of my older images are.
I hate how amateur some/most of my older images are.
It balances me to look back.
Gives me that old tingle, reminds me of why I pick up a camera in the first place.
My focus is shifting back to the editorial/photo journalist style of things and this just makes me more confident in that choice.
I want to start doing more stock photography, and also am going to try and get out there and just immerse myself in my city like I used to.
These are a few I pulled from the bunch.
You can see my full Flickr account HERE (please keep in mind some of these images go back almost ten or more years, the beginnings, so it does not represent my current work)

Seniors Class of 2017

So I have not been as busy as I would like, but I did have the chance to photograph a few awesome seniors.

They are the class of 2017 and they are poised to take over the world. Beautiful, bright, amazing young ladies!!

I am so honored that I had the chance to capture your senior photos for you!

Enjoy your senior year! Take it all in. In the blink of an eye time passes and it becomes a distant memory you wish you could hold onto just a bit longer.

CONGRATULATIONS Elora, MaKayla, and Jacqueline!

Hayley

It was such a pleasure to photograph this young aspiring teen model! Such a beauty! I see her going far in whatever it is she pursues and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for this wonderful girl!!!

New Kids on the Block and 98 Degrees

New Kids on the Block and 98 Degrees

Soaring Eagle Casino  Mt. Pleasant, MI

July 29, 2013

I had so much fun seeing these men!!!! I absolutely adore New Kids on the Block!!! I have been a fan since 89. I love those men as though they are family… they truly are a piece of who I am.
It was bittersweet going to this show. One of my best friends passed away this past October. We met because of these guys and remained friends from that moment on.  We met in middle school due to her wearing New Kids buttons and I asked to borrow one… and as they say… the rest is history.  I miss her dearly every day but this was difficult to go through without her. She would have either been right there alongside me or I would have been able to tell her about it and share in the excitement.

They put on such a good show! I walked away wanting more! I wish I could see them all the time… lol

I was really impressed with 98 Degrees! I forgot how much I liked them until I realized I knew just about every song they sang!

It truly was an enjoyable night!! the weather was perfect and the show was amazing!!! Wish I coulda seen Boyz II Men but ah well…

I am blessed to have been able to capture the some of the show with my camera and am proud of some of the shots!!

So glad that they  chose to go to Soaring Eagle!!! It might have been a bit of a smaller venue but it truly meant the world to us fans that were able to go!!!!

Cecil and kids

I always love collaborating with the lovely Latesha Lipscomb owner of I Got Face Cosmetic Concierge. This time was no exception. It was such a moving and wonderful experience being able to photograph this single father and his children. It is not every day you see a single dad step up the way he has. Kudos to him and all the other single dads out there taking care of their children!! You deserve so much more credit and recognition than what you get!!

Tony Lucca at Festival of the Moon

Been a fan/supporter of this man since 2000! I was so excited when he was on NBC’s The Voice and after the show was done he did two shows here in Michigan. His homecoming show in Detroit which I missed due to car troubles and then he also performed at Old Town’s Festival of the Moon in Lansing, MI.

Here are a few shots from that evening

Tonya – model

last summer I had the pleasure of photographing my cousin Tonya.

she wanted to update her portfolio and asked me to be the photographer. considering she has worked with some of the big names here in Grand Rapids I was honored. I loved working with her! It is always fun working with family and the fact that she is very professional made it all that much better.
